Summer Jobs: A Disneyland Mascot
Posted by panaura on September 18th, 2009
For kids and teens, its often hard to find a summer job. Especially one that pays well and doesn’t leave you bored to tears. But a job is a job, that’s why they call it work. And you always have to take the pros with the cons. Becoming a mascot at Disneyland or Disney World is one of those kinds of jobs.
PRO: Working at Disneyland will land you a $10 per hour paycheck, a lot more than minimum wage. CON: The working conditions aren’t the best. You’re trapped inside a sweaty, stuffy character costume for eight hours, and you have to keep up appearances.
PRO: You have a mask on, and can hide your exaustion or bad mood.
CON: You may have to dance or perform some embarassing stunts.
PRO: The mask hides your identity.
CON: You can’t say one word during your entire shift, except during breaks.
PRO: You’re working at the Happiest Place on Earth.
CON: You can’t go on the rides.
You be the judge. After weighing the pro’s and con’s, is a Disney Mascot the perfect summer job for you?
