Tooth Fairy is a bit like a trip to the dentist–by that I mean, it’s boring and painful and you might fall asleep. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson does his best, flashing those pearly whites at the camera and mugging it up with his newfound fairy wings, but not even the sight of a grown man in a tutu can save this doomed flick. It’s sad to see so much talent going to waste too–you have to wonder what greats like Julie Andrews and Billy Crystal were thinking signing up for this one. Still, if you’re under six, you might giggle at a few scenes, but anyone over seven should steer clear. Check out the full movie review of Tooth Fairy OR Read more movie reviews on Kidzworld.

If you’re looking for some fun visuals without a lot of substance, check out Planet 51. Trouble begins for the Planet 51-ians with the arrival of a boorish astronaut from Earth named Captain Charles T. Baker (voiced by Dwayne Johnson). The story focuses on Baker’s slow realization that on this planet he is the alien. Planet 51 will entertain you for an hour and a half, just don’t expect to remember this movie in a year (or even a month) from now. Also, why aren’t these aliens wearing pants?! Check out the DVD review of Planet 51 on Kidzworld to read more about these Shrek-like aliens and the bumbling space invader from Earth.

Race To Witch Mountain is an exciting reimagining of the classic 1975 Disney movie, Escape to Witch Mountain. The revamped Race To Witch Mountain follows Seth and Sarah, two aliens that look like average teens, but are anything but.
The teens possess secret powers that help them on their journey. Sarah can move objects with her mind and Seth can control his molecular density—that’s a fancy way of saying he can move through walls.
The alien siblings must find their stolen spaceship while evading an evil intergalactic bounty hunter called a Siphon. Along the way they meet Jack Bruno (Dwayne Johnson), a Las Vegas taxi driver who helps them on their mission.
Race To Witch Mountain is out on DVD on August 4th.
