Ranting (Plus my baby pic)

Posted by Asmi on April 11th, 2010

WARNING: All the stuff below is just me ranting, if you haven’t realized that by the title..

I just saw Knocked Up, the movie, starring Seth Rogen and the girl from Grey’s Anatomy. It’s about these strangers who meet at a club, and then a few weeks later the girl finds out she’s pregnant. Anyway, I’m not going to get into the story right now, ’cause I have something on my mind.

Its such a great thing, right? To have a baby. Someone who has two other people’s personality mixture in them. Someone… who’s like a mini you. That’s the best thing in the world. Nature is amazing. Sigh.. I just feel like I’m going to be the worst mother if I ever end up having kids. I’m unorganized, I hate cooking, I hate waking up in the middle of the night or from sleep. I hate cleaning with a passion. I hate diapers. I hate babies crying non-stop. Argh!! I hate too much to be a good parent! And on top of that, I killed a kitten! Neo’s death is my fault. I couldn’t take care of him, that’s why he died. ARGH. I feel like I’m Seth Rogen. I don’t wanna be Seth Rogen! I wish I could just change myself and be this amazing, awesome person who’s good at everything, but that’s not possible. I don’t want to change. I just want to get a little better than I am right now, I guess.

I wouldn’t want to have an unplanned baby either. Wow… I’m too young to be worrying about this stuff.. I need to stop.

Here’s a picture of me when I was little.

I’m going to go eat or read or walk or do something that makes me stop typing a blog.
Toodles.

White Wall

Posted by Asmi on April 11th, 2010

A Rolls Royce stopped in front of the featureless white wall, and a man, probably in his forties, got out of the car. He took his glasses off and looked around in irritation. Then he spotted a small grocery shop, a bit ahead of him, and with a sigh of relief he walked towards it.
Few minutes later he came back with a juice pack in his hand, cigarette in his mouth, and his phone against his ear. Although, he was on the phone talking to someone, his focus was on taking the wrapper off the straw in his hand and to poke it through the hole on top of the juice box as quickly as he could. But, accidently the straw fell off his hand and on the dirty ground. With a grumble he said he’d call back to the person he was talking to and hung up the phone. Muttering, he turned around and looked at the grocery shop way behind him now, he shook his head and continued walking towards his car. That’s when he noticed the wall.
Concealing his excitement, he slowly walked towards it. He looked at the whole wall as if it was a master piece of some Art gallery and the beauty of it awed him. He read the question in bold letter out loud.
“What is life?”
And then read the answer, written in different hand writing, under it. Raising his left eyebrow a little, he looked on the floor and recognized the charcoal. Without another pause, he bent down, picked up the black piece of chalk and then stood back. He looked a bit confused, trying to find an area to place his words on, on the plain big wall. Cracking his neck, the man began to submitting his answer to the asked question. And when he was done he threw the charcoal aside and left in his car, like he didn’t care about anything in the world.

Slow wind blew as a new neat sentence stood out on the white wall.

“Life is a lesson; you learn it when you’re through.”

Asmi.

P.S the line “life is a lesson; you learn it when you’re through” is from a song called “take a look around” or “ M.I. 2 Theme (hate me)” by Limpbizkit.

Funny Adventure Games From Telltale Games

Posted by Nathaniel Edwards on April 10th, 2010

The next season of Sam & Max adventure games starts this week, and in the Kidzworld gaming news post I mentioned that the company that makes Sam & Max, Telltale, has a ton of hilarious adventure games you can play.

  • Tales of Monkey Island - actually sequels to a much older series of also hilarious adventure games involving pirates.
  • Sam & Max – Dog and rabbit team up as freelance police. Regular police have a hard enough job, as it is.
  • Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures – Great British humour, based on the claymation series of the same name. The dog, Gromit, never talks, but he gets more laughs than anybody on facial expressions alone.
  • Bone – Based on Jeff Smith’s series of graphic novels.
  • Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People – Strong Bad, from the online series called “Homestar Runner,” faces problems in the everyday life of a… Mexican wrestler-type guy?

Thinking Out Loud

Posted by Asmi on April 10th, 2010

Isn’t it weird how when someone close to you is not feeling well, you feel this energy all drained out of you and you worry constantly, even if its just a cold or a flu. And yet, some of us don’t show it. I might be one of the people who don’t show it.. I sometimes wish I wasn’t like that, but I am. Can’t help it.

Besides, it’s also weird how some look alike. I find that really weird and I always hate to acknowledge that someone might look like me, I don’t know why.

Today I met a woman who was just looking at me from distance and smiling, and surprisingly I ended up talking to her. She’s a cool lady, I liked her, and very sweet too. I love it when you just have a great time talking to a stranger for 2 minutes. Leaves you smiling, don’t you think?

This blog is mostly me thinking out loud. So I’m going to leave you guys with a random picture from Alice in Wonderland, as I was talking to my friend Veronica about how much that movie sucked and she keeps disagreeing.

Hope everything goes well for everyone this week.

I Had a Great Time!

Posted by Asmi on April 9th, 2010

Today I didn’t have a class but I still went to work, just to give my friend Reem company and because it was weekend and I didn’t want it to be boring.

It’s funny how sometimes you end up being friends with someone you least expect. Now, when you’re a teacher, you will have a good time with your students, if not everyday, at least once in a while you will. Same goes for the bad things. Regardless, the job of a teacher is really interesting and rewarding, if not with money, at any rate it’s good to feel like you’ve taught someone something that might improve them in someway. Anyway, today, me and Reem ended up having a great time with this student. Just talking to her about things from music to pets, it was just really cool and fun. It’s weird how I enjoy the job of a teacher, which once I hated with passion. Now it’s very, satisfying in someway, to me. I like it. Who knows, I might end up being real teacher one day, you never know.

I also saw Percy Jackson: The Lightning Theif, or something today. I didn’t watch the whole movie though, my neice got the C.D and she had to go so took it with her. Anyway, I thought it was bad. It felt so incomplete, and I haven’t even read the book. It felt like, they were rushing, but couldn’t get to the point on time, and yet, it was slow at the same time. The guy in the movie is cute, but doesn’t act that well. The girl cute too, but I felt like breaking her face everytime she gave weird stare. The half goat friend was O.K, but he failed to make it seem very humorous. I think that the blame for this movie’s bad reviews would go to the Director entirely. He/She did a not so good job this time, hopefully next time they’d be better. Wow, look at me, I’m talking as if I have a lot experience in this field or something. Idiotic me.

Here’s a picture of a drawing one of the students did today; I have to cut her face from the pic since I’m not sure if I would be allowed to post her pictures online or not.

Yes, we were drawing some odd looking trible masks today. It was great fun.

So I’m going to go sleep now, it’s 2 A.M, and I have some clothes to wash.

Take care, be safe, and have a lot of fun.

P.S Marcie is reading what I’m typing right now, she’s on my lap. :D

Chain broken

Posted by Asmi on April 8th, 2010

I know, I know. I broke the chain. But what could I do? I had so much work! Marcie was sick and I had tons of office/art work to do! I’m really extremely sorry. I am never able to complete anything. I’m sorry. =[

But this promise I will try to keep; I’m going to write every week. And at least, try to post 6 blogs in a month, or more. But unfortunately, I can’t write everyday for a couple of weeks. I have a lot of work to do and I get really tired at night to write anything about my day. Plus you’ve read my blogs, some of them are just poems and nothing interesting. Interesting things happen occastionaly in my life. So I’m going to make sure I write about them when they do take place. As for now, I gotta break the chain and focus on some other things in my life just for a couple of weeks.

I wrote about how Marcie was hurt and was limping in my previous blog. Well, she’s much better now. It seems she had a dislocated knee or something, because of which she was limping and was in pain. The good part is, that it wasn’t serious, this is common in cats as they jump a lot and from high places. She’s doing pretty good now, thank god, and is walking normally again. I’m so glad she’s okay. Also! I’ve decided not to send her to Marlow. He got neutered yesterday, and I’ve gotten really close to Marcie now, so I don’t want her to leave me.

Apart from that, we’re doing some special projects for Earth Day; we’re going to do some special art/crafts out of stuff we don’t need. A.K.A recycled projects! Which super cool ’cause you know how I make stuff out of trash. :D

Well, I’m going to stop now and leave you with a random picture of some sort. ;D

Well, that’s Marlow. I miss him.

So anyways, goodnight everybody, take care. I promise I will write. I love you guys.

Sad Asmi (Day 17)

Posted by Asmi on April 6th, 2010

Hey guys,

My mood is really, really down today. Marcie hurt her left back paw and is limping since morning. I’m really worried. I looked up some stuff online and it said that I should wait for a day and then take her to the vet if she’s still limping. It could also be a sprain. I hope she’ll be okay, I’m really scared. Ever since Neo died, I get really worried when my pets become even slightly ill. She’s in pain, I can see it. She keeps purring in a weird way and is quiet. She didn’t even eat anything since morning, I had to put some food on my hand and bring it close to her mouth, then she ate it.

I hope and pray that she gets better soon. I’m going to take her to the vet, first thing in the morning.

Here’s an adorable picture of her.

Please pray that she gets better soon. Please.

Burn Bright… (Day 16)

Posted by Asmi on April 5th, 2010

As usual, today I don’t feel like writing much. I feel like being lost in my thoughts of nothing. I feel like remembering the past, but I know that there’s no reason to recall memories that are better off forgotten. It’s how many times I use the would “I” when I write. Makes me feel like like I’m selfish or something…

Anyway, I’m going to leave you guys with a poem or something since I don’t want to type right now.

A BETTER TOMORROW
Author: Yvonne Warren
I never knew there would be a better tomorrow
But you’ve come into my life and taken away all my sorrow

My days of sadness are a thing of the past
Because I have found true love at last

My days of emptiness are gone for good
Because you fill a void in my heart that you should

You’ve opened a window
You’ve shown me the light
And my love for you will continue to burn bright.

That’s just a random picture of the sky.

Adam (Day 15)

Posted by Asmi on April 5th, 2010

NOTE: First of all, sorry for not posting yesterday. It’s absolutely not my fault! The internet was out and didnt return until this morning. So I’ll just post the blog I wrote yesterday but couldnt’s sumbit due to internet problems, and then later on post a blog for today. Enjoy!

So today has been yet another lovely day.

Today I taught 6th graders how to draw. It was fun. They were all girls, and all of them did an amazing job. I was using my most favourite weapon in the class; Humor. And it really worked! I love humor, man.

So apart from that nothing interesting happened. Reem came home today for the first time, to collect some art material, but it was nice to have her.

I wish Lisa and Sam could come to my house. Hmmm. They probably can, with the help of webcam but, you know what I mean. (-_-)

I also saw this great movie and heres a little bit about it.

When I first saw this movie’s trailer, I knew it right then, that this movie to watch. No matter what, I cannot miss out on this.

Then after a few months (which is yesterday) I downloaded this movie. Thinking that it was a romantic-comedy about some guy who had some mental problems (yes, I can be forgetful sometimes). But it was completely different from what I expected. It was a movie that made me wanna get off my bed and clap at the end. That’s how amazing it was.

I’ve been dying to watch a movie that made me feel this way. Inspired, I guess? It just felt so… pleasant. That’s the word I would to describe how I felt while watching this movie.

It was beautiful. It was sweet. It was an adorable. It was Adam, that’s the name of the movie. Hugh Dancy stares as the lead character, of course, Adam. And it would be unfair if I don’t emphasize on his brilliant job in this incredibly wonderful movie. It’s about this guy who has a disorder called Asperger’s Syndrome who starts to develop a relationship with his new neighbor, who’s a beautiful young writer that also happens to be facing some problems in life regarding her father. He did an amazing, amazing work. Other characters were good as well, but since the story is more about Adam, we would focus more on him. I never expected Hugh Dancy to be this good; his work was fabulous; no over acting, no under acting, just the right amount. To me, Adam was like a food which had the right quantity of spices in it. Now, I don’t want to spoil the whole taste of it by telling you the story so I’m just going to say that, if you miss this movie, you’re missing out on something extraordinary. Something fun, relaxing and a fantastic movie. It’s a look on life from an uncommon point of view which is simply, cute! I love this movie and I would recommend it to everyone, from kids to adults, you have got to watch this!

I know I get a little too excited or inspired or, whatever when I watch movies. I’m a movie buff. I love watching a movie; it’s like reading a book to me. And when I watch something that touches (not literally of course), I like to write about it. I loved Adam, and I hope you’ll love him and the movie too. I hated Beth, the girl in it. I feel like cursing her out but… I can’t so… haha.

So now if you’ll excuse me I have some dishes to do and get ready for bed. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Bye everybody. Oh, and here’s a picture I took today of the seaside.

Fate, Fortune and Luck (Day 14)

Posted by Asmi on April 3rd, 2010

So… I can’t sleep. I’m tired but I can’t sleep….

This feeling always reminds me of the song Fix You bye Coldplay. I love, love, love that song so very much.

Today was a lovely day. I had a class with 4 really good artists. All girls, and they were really good in at drawing. One of them wrote “I love Miss Fatima”, that was really cute to me. I love it when students love you, makes you feel like you’ve succeeded in your job as a teacher. You’ve inspired someone, encouraged someone, helped someoen achieve something. That’s really somethin’.

Have you ever wonder why things happen to you? Do you believe in Luck?

Today me and Reem (friend/collegue) were talking about fate and luck. Reem believes in fate, she thinks luck is just another thing, but fate is what’s real. That everything has been written already and what’s bound to happen, will happen.
I agree with that totally. I also believe in it, but sometimes I also do believe in luck. Like, there’s a hint of luck in some things that we do.
A 17 year old makes a website and becomes extremely famous within months and now everyone wants to buy his website or invest on it, or whatever; to me that’s luck. But my definition of luck is similar to fate. The guy was born with a great, bright fate. So that’s luck, I guess.

It’s funny how another word for Fate is Fortune and another word for Fortune is Luck.

Signing off now.
Goodnight everybody.

Here’s the drawing I was talking about.
