The Spy Next Door gives Jackie Chan a chance to ease up on the stunts and concentrate on goofing around with young actors like Will Shadley. Jackie plays a retiring CIA agent who’s forced to content with the nerdy likes of Will’s character, Ian, who unintentionally unlocks a top-secret formula that alerts some bad guy Russians. Also new this week were the premier episodes of American Idol, season 9. The judges headed to Boston and Atlanta, where they were treated to some memorable performances.
