Brandon Bryant danced up a storm on Season Five of So You Think You Can Dance, but he still lost out to Jeanine Mason. Was it his lack of style? His bad attitude? Maybe the judges were still sore about the little white lie he told while auditioning for Season One.
Apparently Brandon filled in his age as eighteen on the forms–the minimum age requirement for SYTYCD contestants–but soon felt pressure from his mom to spill the beans: he was only fifteen at the time.
After that, the producers gave him the boot, but Brandon was back on stage in no time, auditioning for Season Four. He couldn’t crack the Top 20 in that round, but, as his fans will attest, he really found his footing in Season Five.

Well, it was certainly a surprise to see Jeanine walk away with the title of America’s Favorite Dancer. She’s talented, no doubt. But she definitely played the underdog. Brandon looked like he had a clear path to the prize with his strong couples performances and even stronger solos. But perhaps it was time for another girl to win So You Think You Can Dance. After all, they’ve already had 3 male winners and, before now, only one female winner.

So they’ve finally narrowed it down to the top 10 dancers for the 5th season of So You Think You Can Dance. The dancers are:
- Melissa
- Ade
- Jeanine
- Brandon
- Jeanette
- Jason
- Randi
- Evan
- Kayla
- Kupono
Even though Phillip, a fan favorite, didn’t quite make the cut, judge Nigel Lithgow secured him and Caitlin a spot in this season’s top 10 tour! It seems the judges are giving this year’s contestants a little special treatment. But hey, who’s complaining?

This week on So You Think You Can Dance, the top 18 couples performed everything from disco to the tango. By the end of the night, three couples received negative comments from the judges, carving out an obvious bottom three.
