New Moon, the highly anticipated sequel to Twilight, hit theatres yesterday, and the turn out was record breaking. This film built on Twilight, offering more dynamic and intense relationships, more humor and more exposed skin.

Several new boys joins the cast of New Moon, acting as the ever-shirtless Quileute tribe of werewolves. But most of all, New Moon shows Taylor Lautner, a.k.a Jacob, in a whole new light. He’s stronger, faster and so much more than a 16 year old boy should be. In the book, Jacob’s character was a little more pathetic, causing a drastic lead for Team Edward. But since Taylor Lautner’s physical transformation, I wouldn’t doubt if the lead shifted to Team Jacob.

Overall, the film had it’s slow moments, along with countless laugh-out-loud scenes. The audience’s response seemed to be a good one, so I’d say it’s well worth the ten dollar ticket.

The 2009 remake of 1980 film Fame was a little lame. There were talented teenagers left, right and center, but not even they could make Fame a powerful, inspirational film. Don’t get me wrong, the movie wasn’t “bad.” It just didn’t live up to the hype. There were too many cast members. And time past too quickly for viewers to follow the growth of talent and relationnships among the characters. Overall, the film still offers a few entertaining musical numbers, and you’ll still leave the theatre wanting to dance.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past takes the traditional concept of A Christmas Carol and adds a modern spin. Like Scrooge, Connor Mead (Matthew McConaughey) travels into the past, present and future, accompanied by three ghosts. And over the course of the film, he learns that if he doesn’t make a lifestyle change, he’ll die alone and unwanted. But unlike Scrooge, Connor’s biggest problem is centered around the countless women in his life, namely his first and only love, Jenny (Jennifer Garner).

This film is decent and entertaining, but easily forgettable.

St. Trinian’s is a film about a corrupt institution for girls, in which the headmaster tolerates crime, torture and dangerous activities. Originally releasd in the UK in 2007, St. Trinian’s is gradually drifting abroad…unfortunately. This film teaches kids that crime can be heroic…not the kind of message we want our kids learning.

Besides the bad morals, the film has a corny script. And if your not used to the British accent, then it’s very hard to understand the dialogue.

Recently I saw an awesome movie called “He’s Just Not That into You”, which is a romantic-comedy. It’s about nine individuals whose love lives are interconnected and it stars Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore and Scarlet Johansson.

Although, it got an average rating on Hollywood websites, I thought it was really amazing. I loved how crazy and strange all the characters were and in my opinion, everyone’s performance was brilliant.

One of the parts in the movie that I found hilarious was at the beginning, when the narrator is talking about, how women don’t like to acknowledge that maybe the guy is just not into them. They make excuses to each other and never admit or accept the fact that maybe he’s not interested. They just tell one another that he does like them, but either he’s confused or is shy or what so ever.

Anyhow, why I’m talking about this film is because it had a really weird impact on me. It practically brainwashed me. I started thinking that men are selfish and don’t care about anyone but themselves for almost 3 days. I was rude to my brothers and all my male friends; they all thought something was wrong with me. But later on I realized and told myself that it’s just a movie, not all men are the same. And that everybody has their own personality traits. So, I recommend this movie to everyone out there, who wants to have a fun time indoor on a rainy night.
